Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY?

District PT specializes in pelvic floor therapy that targets and identifies pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. We may address conditions such as incontinence, low back pain, prolapse recovery, sexual dysfunction, ligament and pelvic pain during pregnancy or strengthening during postpartum healing.

We strive to provide effective treatments and communication that empower patient understanding of their unique pelvic anatomy and gain awareness and confidence for how their pelvic floor muscles are working. We prepare moms for labor and delivery or if postpartum care, provide tools that guide healing after birth. We offer a private one on one treatment space to address pelvic concerns in a safe and comfortable setting. You are not alone and we are here to help you leave with a recovery plan to get you back to doing the activities you love!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

During an initial evaluation, you will have the opportunity to share any concerns, goals and relevant medical history followed by an assessment of your postural bone alignment, muscle strength, motor coordination, and joint flexibility. If warranted, pelvic floor patients may receive an internal pelvic examination, with their consent, to help address pelvic floor dysfunction. After the evaluation is complete, we will discuss the findings and target specific treatment and goals to help you recover back to the activities you love.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS TO THERAPY SESSIONS?

Yes! We want to help you prioritize your health and though space is limited, your baby or child may sit nearby treatment table where we offer toys and books to explore.

CAN YOU COME TO MY HOME OR OFFICE?
